New Year Micropoems

blizzard eye
each tree branch makes last requests

quiet has its own season
snowfall whisper

New Year scratches at bedroom windows
thin fingered branches in winter.
Who knows which way the tempest
will take us? We, the leaves,
                              determined to outlive winter.
